Interwebs Say Paul Heyman is “Big Surprise”

The following report comes from the Pro Wrestling Insider website. For what it’s worth, I hope to no end that the big surprise isn’t Kevin Sullivan. Lord knows that he’s not surprising or able to communicate with a 2010 audience. Heyman, on the other hand, might fit it very nicely with TNA’s decision to produce a product for an older generation of wrestling fans.

__________

The word we are getting is that the big change that Dixie Carter is tweeting on her Twitter account is not something related to Slammiversary but something that is much bigger for the company as a whole.

There has been a lot of talk that the company has reached out to people to enhance and/or overhaul the creative end of the company and we can confirm that the two most prominent names discussed internally are Kevin Sullivan and Paul Heyman.

As we have mentioned previously on the site, Heyman has been on the TNA radar for a while now. The story we have gotten is that for Heyman to come in, he would need complete control of the creatiove process (or at least as much as a booker can have in 2010). We can also confirm that they have spoken with Sullivan as well.

We will have more on this story as soon as we can confirm it.

It amazes me why they haven’t already offered Paul 100% control. TNA has reached a certain level ratings wise and has stayed there. The evil mind of Paul E might be the spark that brings a ratings monster to life. If after a while it doesn’t work, changes can always be made. WWE is very pop culture and public based where as TNA is very Internet fan based. And Internet wrestling fans f’n love Paul Heyman, so bringing him in is an automatic win in many aspects.
