The Heel Section: WWE Wins the First Battle But Not the War

TNAStars.com Presents The Heel Section!

All is right in the World again! Well at least in the World of Pro Wrestling.

TNA Wrestling gave us a nice effort but they failed miserably in their Monday night timeslot. Scoring an average television rating of less than a 1.0 just did not do the trick for TNA. So what does TNA do? They tuck their tail between their legs and move back to Thursday nights. The move back to Thursdays is the most genius move the company has made since the Hogan/Bischoff era began.

So where does WWE fit in here? The answer is they don’t. The WWE is still heads and tails above TNA wrestling. As we all know Vince McMahon has a giant check book and his company has been in business for decades, but does that mean TNA can’t compete? Well yes!

WWE has proven that it doesn’t matter what a certain percentage of wrestling fan wants. WWE puts out a universal product that can be enjoyed by all wrestling fans. Take the RAW guest host gimmick for example; most fans have become tired of the idea but WWE has still pushed the idea on us. A few minor tweaks later wrestling fans are still tuning in to Raw and there is still a guest host.

TNA has said in the past that they are not trying to compete with WWE. Why did TNA move to Monday Nights? Its simple TNA lied. Whether or not TNA is billed as the “alternative” TNA needs ratings to survive. As of right now The UFC is the only competition to WWE. Spike TV will eventually realize that. WWE Raw last week scored a 3.05 and TNA scored a 0.8 and that’s the bottom line.
