Hot Rumor: Flair Berates Jordan’s Boyfriend
Added on Thursday, April 1st, 2010 at 1:00 am to Latest News by Joe Vincent

Source: Various

There is a report making its way around the internet that wrestling legend Ric Flair verbally assaulted Orlando Jordan’s male companion while a group of TNA employees were out at a bar after a recent show. This is the rumor floating around the internet:

Ric Flair confronted an on-air male companion of Orlando Jordan after the TNA iMPACT tapings this past Tuesday when several TNA wrestlers and crew members were hanging out at a local bar.

According to the report, Flair got so upset while watching the man dance at the bar, that he confronted him and cut a promo on him. Jordan’s friend was said to be very shaken by Flair’s comments, that he left the bar. The report also says that Flair was fuming over the male companion having a role with the company, and not belonging in the locker room with the rest of the wrestlers and crew members.

Like most rumors that involve the Nature Boy and guys fighting behind the scenes, this one is sure to be either confirmed or denied relatively quickly. From this writer’s standpoint, if this story is true it either shows that time has passed Ric Flair by or that he is not aware that there are other bisexuals and gay wrestlers in wrestling locker rooms (Chris Kanyon anyone?).

I gotta disagree with you about about Naitch on this one, if it indeed true. Perhaps it’s not time passing Ric bye but the guy was being offensive. Sure if Flair berated the guy for being gay unprovoked then yes he is out of line in my opinion. If the guy was making sexual advances, unwanted flirting, or purposely trying to make someone uncomfortable then this is for sure called for on the Nature Boy’s part. I think sometimes we as a society are quick to condemn people speaking out against unwanted homosexual behavior, yet we applaud people who stand-up to unwanted heterosexual behavior, as we should.

Example. if Scott Hall was being overboard with some women in a bar and it was getting on their nerves and someone dressed him down for acting this way it would be a non-issue in regards the person who told Flair off, but if someone dresses down a homosexual for the same behavior it is news.

From a purely wrestling perspective the gimmick was awful, the execution was awful, and the performer is awful. If TNA wanted to introduce a bi-sexual character why doesn’t he act like most bisexuals? In the workplace I’ve worked with several and would never had known if it didn’t come out in a conversation. To have Orlando act all weird and goofy is more a behind the times offense in my opinion.

    Hey William,

I completely agree that the angle came off horrible and that TNA isn’t going about the process of introducing a bisexual character the right way. There is no need for the extravagant flamboyance and downright awkward stuff that they subjected the audience to on Monday night, though maybe they are going for a different spin on the character like the flamboyance of a Rico or something akin to that type of persona.

And I accept your disagreement and admit that, in the scenario that you present, a dressing down by Flair to the gay guy would be acceptable. However, I have no indication of whether or not the gay guy was making inappropriate advances towards anyone. I guess we’ll have to wait for more information on the story to come out. However, if the gay guy was just dancing with another guy or if Flair had a few too many (we don’t know either), then Flair might be the one in the wrong.

If I find any more information, I’ll post it up!

Your right, until we know the facts the scenarios are speculation. Another conspiracy theory thought I have on the whole situation is Flair has an offer from the WWE and is just wanting to become a pest and get released. He has received his release in the past when he has leveraged a better deal elsewhere. While he is the greatest wrestler ever in my mind, he is far from the most scrupulous businessman.

    Ooo… I hadn’t thought of that – interesting…
