The St. Petersburg Times printed a report today about Bubba the Love Sponge’s recent comments about Haiti. Towards the end of the report, the following was printed:
Clem’s comments sparked heated, profanity-laden exchanges on his Twitter feed with others who objected to his comments. On Monday, he posted messages implying the controversy may have threatened his appearances on TNA Wrestling, the pro wrestling league where he has appeared with longtime friend Hulk Hogan.
The discussion continued into Tuesday’s show, when Clem spoke about a physical confrontation with a female TNA wrestler named Awesome Kong over the issue during a taping in Orlando Monday, which sounded a bit like the scripted fights common in pro wrestling.
Hatley said Clem spent time Tuesday taping material for the wrestling league’s shows on the Spike TV channel and was not in danger of losing his position.
It would appear from Brent Hatley’s comments that Bubba did not lose his spot on the TNA announcing team because of this situation.
